A Weekend with Auntie Lolo and Uncle Marcum

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Gavin and I went to Orem this weekend and spent time with my best friend Lorien "Auntie Lolo" and her awesome husband Marcum "Uncle Marcum. It was a really nice weekend to be with friends and watch the boys play. Here are some pictures of our fun time. Enjoy!

We went to a purse party and couldn't resist seeing if Baby Phoebe (Lorien's cousin's daughter) in a big purse. She's so cute!

I realized I only had one picture of Uncle Marcum and it's not a great one so sorry had to exclude him this time :(

A Date in Beaver Canyon

Monday, November 1, 2010

I've been talking to a guy who lives in Northern Utah and I got to meet him this weekend. His name is Colby and we had a great time! Here are some great pictures from our little adventure. I'd never been to Beaver beyond the gas stations that are off the freeway. We drove up the Canyon and it was really pretty!

This was hard to capture but we would just see cows on the road all the way up the mountain.
There were Deer everywhere as soon as the sun went down.

These two were in the camp site.

This was the coolest thing! A Beaver Dam. I'd never seen one in the "wild"

Here's one of the beavers. There were 5 swimming around.

This was just a sprig of berries I thought was nice looking :)

One QB and Two Bee's

Sunday, October 31, 2010

So because we live in Utah we celebrate Halloween the day before if it falls on a Sunday. So last night we dressed up and went a knockin'.

He was Bumblebee the Transformer and I was a Bumble Bee. He picked them out too!
Gavin the Transformer!
Mommy the Bumble Bee :)

So you ask, what's the QB thing about? Well let me just show you.

It's my very own Tom Brady! :) My date Colby was nice enough to dress up too by wearing my Brady jersey and letting me try my hand at some face "painting." What a good sport :)

Jaida a.k.a Gangsta Girl. Jaida is one of Jo's kids. Jo is my awesome friend who watches Gavin for me when I'm at work. I love her and her kids so much. They are an amazing blessing to me and Gavin. I didn't get to picture them all but here are a few. She just had #6!
This adorable little Ladybug is Kamber.
And this is Kyelan with Gavin after all the candy had been collected.
It was a successful and fun night. Now if I can just keep myself from eating all the candy . . . .

Primary Program with Gloves

Monday, October 25, 2010

Yesterday Gavin was in his first Primary program at church. It was so cute. He had wanted to wear his Transformers costume and had a small melt down when I told him we don't wear costumes to church. As a compromise he put on his "Spiderman" gloves. (The stretchy ones that are $1 at Walmart). So he wore his gloves all through the program and it was rather adorable. He was supposed to be seated in the front row, where the Bishopric usually sits, but he and another boy mostly stood up against the wall next to the pulpit. SO, everyone got a chance to check out his sweet gloves :)
I don't have any pictures unfortunately since it was in the chapel but I'll try to get some of him in his gloves at home so you can see them.
When it was his classes turn to say their lines, he stepped right up and very clearly said "Jesus Christ is the son of God." After church he was upset that "the girl" had whispered the line in his ear because he wanted to do it all on his own. Sigh . . . :)
After Sacrament everyone was asking about the gloves and so I told them of our compromise and with big smiles I would gladly hear how cute he was and what I good parent I am. Maybe he should wear those gloves more often . . . . .

From Then Until Now

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

I went through and chose one of my favorite pictures of Gavin from each year of his life so far. It's weird because you think you love them when they are born but it only grows. I almost feel like I could burst lately, he is so great and such a perfect little blessing for me.

Day One

He loves popcorn!

The only professional ones we've had done so far.

Too cute for words!

Staheli Farm

Monday, October 18, 2010

Gavin and I went to Staheli Farm while my dad ("Grumpy") was here. I wanted to take Gavin to a pumpkin patch and take some pictures, they came out pretty cute.

Staheli Farm

I love this one. I changed it from color to sepia because I like the effect.

A Grumpy slam dunk!

Here We Go

Friday, October 15, 2010

So, I figured between working 40 hours a week, getting a Master's Degree, being a single mom and being active in my church I would have some free time to blog along with my other hobbies. <Insert sarcasm here>
Actually I just thought it would be an easy way to be creative and for my friends who don't have facebook (yes there are still people not on there!) to keep in touch and see pictures of me and Gav. (Gavin for those of you who didn't even know I have a child) I'll get into that later :)
I plan to be really open, as I almost always am, so if you think I'm sharing too much at times, well . . . too bad. :) It's my blog, my life and my expression.
