Primary Program with Gloves

Monday, October 25, 2010

Yesterday Gavin was in his first Primary program at church. It was so cute. He had wanted to wear his Transformers costume and had a small melt down when I told him we don't wear costumes to church. As a compromise he put on his "Spiderman" gloves. (The stretchy ones that are $1 at Walmart). So he wore his gloves all through the program and it was rather adorable. He was supposed to be seated in the front row, where the Bishopric usually sits, but he and another boy mostly stood up against the wall next to the pulpit. SO, everyone got a chance to check out his sweet gloves :)
I don't have any pictures unfortunately since it was in the chapel but I'll try to get some of him in his gloves at home so you can see them.
When it was his classes turn to say their lines, he stepped right up and very clearly said "Jesus Christ is the son of God." After church he was upset that "the girl" had whispered the line in his ear because he wanted to do it all on his own. Sigh . . . :)
After Sacrament everyone was asking about the gloves and so I told them of our compromise and with big smiles I would gladly hear how cute he was and what I good parent I am. Maybe he should wear those gloves more often . . . . .

My compromise would be, "You cannot wear a costume to church, or I'll throw it away." You are a good parent :)
